This site contains work related to the Game of Life (game:"any test of skill, courage, or endurance" -Webster). Though the form of the work varies, it all relates to human development and thus, to creativity, ethics, the expansion of awareness, emotional health, intellectual and spiritual growth. Certain questions have been at the heart of this work: What are the stages that punctuate the human continuum? How might these stages be traversed? What is the relationship of the imagination to this task? What about the role of therapy? art? philosophy? For those seriously interested, what are the ethics of choice? My hope is that the work contained in this site will be of interest, even of value, to the visitor who happens upon it. At the same time, I'm hopeful that visitors will register their questions, concerns, recommendations for making this site of greater interest still.

| The Gameboard |
The Gameboard is a "map" depicting the five levels of human development. It was developed in 1984 and has served as the grid to which much of the rest of my work is anchored. The goal of the "game" is to move from No Mind to Never Mind. (Eventually, the viewer will be able to click on any one of the squares and be taken to an explanation or set of questions that reveal/explore that particular aspect of development.) |
| From No Mind to Never Mind | An essay offering the thinking behind and an explanation of the "Five Levels of Being" (as depicted on "the Gameboard"). |
| Dance of the Seven Veils |
Script for a dance performance performed by the Mary Waugh-Taylor Dance Company at Witherspoon Hall - Joslyn Art Museum, Omaha Nebraska, May 27 & 28, 1994. Twenty dancers, twelve numbers, woven together by a Narrator who offers the audience an alternative interpretation of "the Dance of the Seven Veils". |
